AutoSky CarPlay Pro Adaptor

If you are looking for a no-frills, simple and affordable wireless Apple CarPlay (does not support Android Auto) adaptor then look no further than the AutoSky Pro 2023 Edition!

This small adaptor brings wireless CarPlay to nearly any model vehicle at currently supports the feature in wired mode. With its compact size, it makes a great clean addition to just about any car. At smaller than most candy bars, the adaptor can be discretely plugged in to your CarPlay supported usb port. In the box is included extension cables if necessary and even a usb-c adaptor for newer vehicles. Design wise, the adaptor is plastic with a nice “carbon Fiber” weave look and texture on the exterior.

In use, connecting to the adaptor the first time is very straight forward and simple. It shows up as a Bluetooth device and you simply click pair. After initial pairing it will automatically connect anytime, you start your car. I have found this works just fine about 95% of the time, every once and a while there would be a hiccup and id have to unplug the adaptor and plug it back in and then everything was fine.

Once up and running, everything works like you’d expect CarPlay to work, just without the wire! Touch is responsive and the menus are fluid. Maps are quick and navigation works just fine. That said, Apple Maps does have its own set of issues that unfortunately carry over to CarPlay but that is no fault of the adaptors.

Music is crisp and clear, and little to no drops or quality issues. Wireless CarPlay inherently has a slight bit of lag when changing songs, though since Apple introduced crossfade in Apple Music this lag is nearly indistinguishable.

Phone Calls, and Teams Meetings have all been very clear for me and no one complains about audio issues on their side either.

The only issue i have frequently with the adaptor and i believe it is just my model vehicle is sometimes when it switches from the cars radio over to CarPlay the screen is totally blank. In these cases, I have to hit the radio button in the car and then tap CarPlay icon and it loads up fine after. This only started happening after the last update to the adaptor.

That said, the adaptor does get frequent updates and that is all managed Over the Air via a simple web page you connect to when connected to the adaptor. Management is easy and straightforward, with little needing changed outside updates.
